Being a teacher is so rewarding. Keep this in mind as you endeavor on your path towards becoming a teacher.

Programs to be a part of on your way to the Teaching Credential Program:

 

TEACH Info Dinner:

Taking place on February 17th, 2011 from 6:00-8:00pm in Baja Surf. This annual dinner is open to all on-campus residents who sign-off their meal at there resident hall front desk. Faculty, Staff & Teaching Credential Students from the College of Science & Mathematics join in and share about Teaching programs & opportunities available to Cal Poly students. Learn By Doing Lab:

A 2-unit course offered Winter and Spring 2011. Nearly 3,000 4th-8th grade students will be coming on to campus to have enrolled Cal Poly students teach them hands-on science (Environmental, Earth, Physical, Life) and Engineering! Find out more via the Learn By Doing Lab link.

 

Teacher Apprentice Program

Paid tutoring opportunity for Math, Science or Engineering majors interested in teaching. Work with students in 5th-12th grade classrooms and after school. STEM Teach Program:

For students completing the LIVESCAN, test prerequisites (CBEST & CSET) or First Aid training for the Teaching Credential Program. You can have the affiliated fees reimbursed as a STEM Teach Program fellow. Find the application at the STEM Teach Program description on the Other Programs & Projects page.

 

Noyce Scholars Program:

Students pursuing a Teaching Credential at Cal Poly should apply to become a Noyce Scholar. Scholars can receive up to 3 years of financial aid support in return for teaching in a high-need school district. To find out more visit the Noyce Scholars webpage.
